A 100-year-old woman and an 86-year-old woman were both the victims of pick pockets while shopping in Exeter city centre today.

The centenarian woman had her purse stolen at roughly 11:30am whilst in the Exeter Guildhall Shopping Centre branch of Sainsburys. A short time later an 86-year-old woman also had her purse stolen whilst shopping in the same area.

Both purses contained a small amount of cash.

The Police were alerted by a member of staff at Sainsburys and the suspects have been described as a man and a woman.

No other descriptions of the thieves are available at this point.

Police are reminding shoppers to keep a close eye on your bags when in crowds.
