LONDON 2012 games makers and torch bearers from across the county are receiving a free invite to the Devon Sport Makers Christmas Party, being held at Sandy Park on Thursday, December 6.

They are asked to contact County Sport Partnership Active Devon to ensure they receive a ticket for the event at Sandy Park Conference Centre.

Games makers and torch bearers from across the county helped inspire volunteers to sign up to the Sport Makers scheme, who have gone out into their community to support, deliver and organise grassroots sport.

Active Devon want all games makers and torch bearers to join these volunteers at the event to share their knowledge, enthusiasm and experience and celebrate the year of volunteering in sport.

The event includes a draw, goody bags and also the chance to meet a London 2012 athlete.

Sport Makers coordinator James Bogue, said: "We are excited at the prospect of pulling together so many sports volunteers under one roof."

If you would like to attend, contact Charlie Keene at charlie.keene@devon.gov.uk.
