COMEDY with a caustic anti-establishment twist is on offer at the Comedy Hall in Tiverton, when Steve Hughes, world-class, sublime comic and ex-heavy metal drummer, returns from sell-out shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand Comedy festivals to preview his second UK tour.
Hughes, with his 'Jesus'-style hair and beard and dressed in the black and leather uniform beloved of goths and metal heads, looks like a roadie. But he returns to the UK on a wave of acclaim following his debut tour here in 2012, which had to have extra dates added due to phenomenal demand. He's also built on his reputation as a unique, world class performer with brilliant sets on Live at the Apollo and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow as well as Stand Up For The Week and One Night Stand.
The master comedian will be testing out new material for his latest show While It's Still Legal, featuring his usual outspoken social commentary before embarking on the main tour. Hughes is at the Comedy Hall in Tiverton on August 21 at 8pm. Tickets cost £10 from www.comedyhall.co.uk.
