MAJOR remedial works are needed to safeguard the walls of the canal and decking at the Double Locks.

Extensive decking has been laid on top of the dry laid stone which borders the canal but in some part the stone wall is failing causing the decking to slope.

The Double Locks, which is a Grade II listed building, is applying to the city council for planning permission for the decking to be removed and new stonework to be secured, held within steel gabion baskets and the decking replaced.
