East Devon coastline issued with severe flood warning ahead of high tide

Seafronts along East Devon, between Exmouth and Lyme Regis, have been issued with a sever flood warning this morning.

Low lying and exposed communities between Exmouth and Lyme Regis, including sea front areas of Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth and Seatonare at risk from High Tide later today.

Wednesday morning’s high tide is combined with strong winds and large waves. The time and date of forecast high water is 09:15

Low lying and exposed communities between Start Point and Dawlish Warren, including Beesands, Torcross, Slapton, Torbay and Dawlish have also been issued with a sever flood warning.

Exmouth seafront has been closed this morning.

There are currently 57 flood alerts, 26 flood warnings and 7 severe flood warnings in place in the Southwest

The public are being asked to stay away from the coast.
