JUST because the summer holidays have come to an end, it doesn't mean the fun has to stop. Every Friday throughout September, Escot in Ottery St Mary is offering half-price entry and free afternoon cake and biscuits from 2pm onwards.
FUN for all the family can be enjoyed at the Devon Air Ambulance Trust 25th anniversary celebrations. Over two days on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8, there will be lots of going on at Darts Farm in Topsham from 10am to 4pm. The fun continues into the evening on both nights with live music.
JOIN in a family fun run or attempt the 10k or 5k courses in aid of Force at Powderham Castle, pictured. It is being held on Sunday, September 8, raising funds to support those affected by cancer locally.
TO celebrate the launch of the world's first 3D virtual fossil collection to the public, visitors at Exeter's Royal Albert Memorial Museum are invited to enter a competition to hunt down the 3D-printed fossils among the museum's displays.
The prize is a VIP behind-the-scenes museum tour and a tablet computer preloaded with 3D fossils.
Thousands of 3D digital fossil models, plus several thousand high quality images, many in 3D, can now be browsed and downloaded for free.
A holotype specimen from the collections at RAMM has been included in this project. The skull is on permanent display in the Down to Earth gallery and is from a Rhynchosaur, a kind of early reptile known scientifically as Fodonyx spenceri. The fossil was found at Peak Hill near Sidmouth.
The competition closes on Thursday, September 12.
AUDITIONS to appear in Jack and the Beanstalk, this year's Princess Theatre pantomime in Torquay, are being held at the venue on Thursday, September 12.

Candidates will be auditioned in groups and taught a short dance routine.
The pantomime dates are December 13 to January 5. Rehearsals start on November 30.
