Exeter Cathedral sees jump in crowds for Christmas services

The 2012 Christmas services held at Exeter Cathedral proved very popular with more than 20,000 people attending the services. Attendance was up by eight per cent compared to 2011.

The Very Reverend Jonathan Draper said he was hoping to see the trend of more and more attending the Christmas services continue.

"It was great to see so many people seeking out their cathedral to attend a service this Christmas, and shows that for so many of us, God is still at the heart of our Christmas" he said to BBC Devon.
