JACK Yeandle will make his first start in the Aviva Premiership as one of six changes to the Exeter Chiefs side to face London Welsh tomorrow (3pm).
The former Crediton hooker comes in for Neil Clark, who drops to the bench for the visit of the side battling against the drop.
Flanker Ben White also returns to the side after an infection in his hand proved less serious than first feared.
Head coach Rob Baxter has recalled skipper Tom Hayes, scrum-half Haydn Thomas and centre Sireli Naqelevuki for the match at Sandy Park.
And there is also a first start in the Premiership since early December for prop Carl Rimmer, who takes over from Ben Moon at loosehead.
Rich Baxter moves from blindside to his normal position of No. 8 to allow White back in, with Kai Horstmann missing out altogether as Dave Ewers is named on the bench after overcoming a hamstring strain.
As well as Clark, Moon, Damian Welch and Will Chudley drop to the bench.
Coach Baxter is looking forward to playing at Sandy Park again as his side bid to end a five-game winless run in the league.
He said: “We’ve got to remember how we’ve played at home, some of the good performances we’ve put in, how those good performances came around and keep ramming that home.
“We’re very aware London Welsh are a very good side. I said from the start of the season that people would underestimate London Welsh at their peril. Teams that come through the Championship play-offs are a good side.
“I still believe that but I also believe we’re a good side. We’ve beaten some very good teams this year, teams that are doing very well in the Premiership.
“That’s what we should be aiming for, that higher-level performance, and it shouldn’t matter what team we come up against. Those performances have always come as a result of us looking to hit the heights that we can play.”
