EXETER City Council is proposing to knock down 54 garages in Thornpark Rise and replace them with nine new homes.
The city council has hundreds of garages for rent across Exeter and after a review which found many of them redundant, decided to utilise the ground some of them are on for much needed new homes.
This latest scheme would see nine, three-person four bed properties being constructed – the longest waiting time in the city is currently for three bed homes.
Six would be built as semi-detached and there would be one terrace of three.
All would be two storeys high.
