The Exeter Falcons are appealing to the local community to help them in their quest to bring back Exeter speedway.

The annual Falcons home-coming ball and firework display will this year taken place on Saturday October 29.

Organisers are appealing to the local community and local businesses to help them find a suitable location for the event.

If they can find a suitable venue, organisers hope the event will host a firework display, hog roast, barbeque, disco and live band, with fancy dress also being considered.

A petition signing on September 3, has seen over 1000 people sign the dotted line to bring back Exeter speedway racing. Tony Lethbridge made every effort to ensure the petition prompted great response.

Now, organisers hope the annual event will help to raise the Falcon’s publicity and funding and persuade officials to bring it back to Exeter.

Organiser, Simon Brackett, said: “We would love local businesses to sponsor us to put this great event on as I think it will show that the Falcons can fly once again with more support.”

The next speedway meeting will be held on October 7, at Somerset Speedway, arranged by Exeter Falcons’ Mattie Bates.
