The Exeter Vintage and Handmade Fair will be taking place on Saturday 16th July between 11am and 4pm, at the Thistle Hotel, Exeter -free entry!
We have over 45 stall holders, of local crafters, and businesses based in Devon and also from Cornwall. These stall holders produce and sell quality vintage and craft items.
On offer the public can find homewares, small items of furniture, jewellery, candles, ceramics cards, vintage cake stands and lots lots more!
We decided that it would be a great idea to raise some money for a local charity and we chose ELF because Cassie's Aunt died of Leukaemia and we wanted to support the fantastic work that Exeter Leukaemia Fund undertake.
We already have some great prizes including a meal for two and a bottle of wine at the Thistle Hotel. To add to the atmosphere of the fair we asked the Southwest Lindy Hop duo to come along and perform some of their routines, we thought this would be the perfect accompaniment to our vintage style event.
We also have a Pimm's lounge, serving Pimm's, afternoon tea, and wonderful cakes supplied from Kiss and Bake up (a local cakery)! We also have beautiful vintage crockery, supplied by The English Tea Party.

This is an exciting new event to Exeter, and we hope that not only will it attract the public from Exeter but from further afield throughout Devon and beyond. We are going to be holding future events in Exeter so look out for these as well!
Cassie and I decided to hold the vintage and handmade fair because we believed that Exeter could do with more craft fairs and especially vintage style events. We are both keen crafter's, and I wanted to use my talents to make jewellery, candles, cards and other homewares with the intention of selling them to make a little money.
I have had an interest in vintage since my early teenage years when I worked for an auction house. Cassie is a keen jewellery maker and has also been fascinated by vintage items ever since her mother bought her a 1920s beaded purse at a jumble sale. Once we both realised how much fun we had putting our skills to use and creating our pieces as well as attending craft fairs, and meeting some great people we began to get frustrated at the lack of vintage style events in Exeter, we found ourselves having to travel to attend fairs - it was from this that we decided to put on our own event, for our local friends and sellers to exhibit at.
We want to celebrate what local crafter's and small businesses have to offer! We are both interested in Environmental issues and what can be done to help the environment, buying vintage items is one way in which to do so, as it is much kinder to the environment, in that it is recycling of items.
