Exeter will appear on BBC One this evening starring in The Great British Railway Journeys presented by Michael Portillo.
The episode will air at 6.30pm tonight focusing on travelling from North Devon to Exeter via rail.
In the series, Portillo travels around the British railway network, guided by a Victorian guidebook written by George Bradshaw, and compares how the destinations have changed between Victorian and modern times.
In tomorrow’s episode the presenter goes on to visit Exmouth and spends a day with the RNLI.
South West RNLI Public Relations Manager, Tamsin Thomas was co-ordinating the project on the 26 May, she said:
'A hot, sunny day in Exmouth kept the RNLI lifeboat volunteers in the town busy. In a space of four hours the crew of the D class inshore lifeboat attended to ten incidents. The emergencies alone illustrate the commitment of the station's volunteers.'
