Waffle the dog has achieved worldwide fame for her uncanny ability to locate and bring home lost balls.
Footballs, tennis balls, rubber balls, plastic balls, funny faced balls, they all find a home in Waffle’s big, soft mouth.
And she brings them all back to add to her growing collection.
Waffle, the much loved pet of Sarah Bennett, has now found fame has spread across the world - and brought hundreds of pounds to a little-known dog charity.
Sarah was stunned by her clever dog’s ability to find, what she calls “lost and lonlee borlees” when they go walking together in Exeter.
But she overcame her surprise and turned her pet’s uncanny skills to a good cause.
A member of the Naughty Terriers Club she decided to sponsor Waffle for each ball she found during the week – and the money would go to SOS Terrier Rescue – a charity which helps terriers abroad and in the UK.
During the first five days, Waffle found an astounding 23 balls and raised over £2,000 for the charity with donations coming in from all over the world.
Sarah said: “I offered to donate £1 to Terrier SOS for every borlee Waffle found for one week.
“What started as a little bit of fun between friends, has now grown, with so many people jumping on board the “borlee-finding” bandwagon, that we’ve now created an entire page so all the very generous donations can be collected together under one roof.
“This way we can keep track of exactly how much money we raise in order to help the little terriers who are not as fortunate as our own beloved pets.
“Every penny raised will go directly to Terrier SOS, who rely entirely on the generosity of donations in order to continue rescuing and rehoming many abandoned little dogs, throughout both Europe and the UK.
