An Exeter schoolboy has his eyes set on the World Rubik Cube Championships in Brazil next year.
Louis de Mendonça, from Exeter School, who is soon to join the new Exeter Mathematics School, has a good chance after an excellent showing at the European championships held in Roskilde, Denmark
Louis made made the top 100 among thousands of competitors win only his second competition.
His father Andre said the UK contingent in Roskilde numbered around 20.
“There was no qualifying time so anyone who can solve a cube can enter
“There are around 30,000 registered Cubers in the world – that is those that have entered official competitions – but the number of people cubing is probably in the millions.”
