A luxury kitchen and bathroom showroom near Exeter has become only the second business in 30 years to score a perfect 10 in an industry secret shopper survey.

Kitchens, Bedrooms and Bathrooms magazine recently carried out the research in the city and gave Sapphire Living Space top marks.

Owners Mark Newbery and Ross Pollard were delighted to be told it was only the second time a maximum score had been achieved in the past three decades.

“It’s obviously great to receive such a high commendation from a respected and independent publication but when we were told it was only the second 10 out of 10 they had awarded in 30 years, we were blown away,” said Mark.

“This is a wonderful accolade and a reflection upon the strength and depth of the team here.”

The magazine said in its summary of the visit: “If you think buying a kitchen or bathroom should be both enjoyable and informative, then head to Sapphire for a masterclass in intelligent, customer-friendly service.”

Sapphire Living Space opened in August 2012 at the Dart Business Park, Topsham.

The 3,500sq ft showroom is the exclusive South West stockist of hand-crafted Bulthaup kitchens as well as a wide range of furniture and bathroom products.

It is owned and run by Mark, who had worked in property development and sales, and Ross, who had worked as a kitchen fitter and designer. The pair had previously worked together on several projects.
