Exeter singer Holly Morwenna has triumphed at the Regional Finals of the Open Mic UK contest.
The 15-year-old’s next step will be to impress the judges at the Southern Area Finals on November 30 for a place at the Finals at the 02 Arena in January
Holly won the award for the best publicised act winning her a free recording session at River Studios in Southampton and a free vocal session for bringing a coach of young fans to the event.
Holly’s singing teacher, Hannah Woods, has been key to Holly’s success and said: “Holly never ceases to amaze me with her mature and outstanding ability to write songs that the majority of people will without a doubt connect to - and be affected by. Her fantastic vocal ability, raw musical talent and determination will carry her very far. She is definitely one to watch.”
Holly will be playing live at John Lewis at midday in Exeter on Saturday 12th October and also at the OxjamExeter 2013 Music Trail 1.15pm on Saturday 19th October at Café at 36, St Thomas, Exeter.
