ONE of the UK's top young bluegrass and folk acts are playing Bradninch Acoustic Music Club's Christmas night at St Disen's Hall on December 12.
The Carrivick Sisters – twins Laura and Charlotte – perform their original songs and instrumentals, along with a few chosen covers, on guitar, mandolin, fiddle, dobro, and clawhammer banjo.
Through a busy touring schedule, they are building a reputation for engaging and entertaining live performances with tight vocal harmonies.
The sisters grew up in South Devon, an area rich in folklore and legends which has inspired their music writing.
They were finalists in the prestigious BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2010 and were named Band/Duo of the Year in the 2011 FATEA Awards.
Tickets cost £5 on the door which opens at 7.30pm.
The club says that tea, coffee, mulled wine and mince pies will be available.
There is no licensed bar, but showgoers can bring their own drinks.
