One of the world’s richest man is given a massive boost to a fundraising concert in Exeter.
Bill Gates, the American inventor and philanthropist and former chief executive and chairman of Microsoft, has stepped in and offered to treble the amount raised at the Last Night of the Rotary Proms at Exeter Cathedral on Saturday, March 1.
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has made a multi-million pound donation to treble money raised by Rotary in its support of the End Polio Now charity, which is benefiting from the concert.
The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Exmouth and District, will feature the Royal Marines Band and the Military Wives’ Choir (Lympstone and Chivenor)
It marks the 20th anniversary of concerts run by the rotary club.
As well as End Poverty Now the evening is supporting Devon Air Ambulance Trust and Children’s Hospice SW
