The acting headteacher of a school which will close later this year has announced that he has a new job.
In a letter to parents, Lee Bergin confirmed he will be taking up a new role at a school in Cheshire when St Margaret's closes at the end of August.
The school, which is owned by the Woodard Group, will close because it is no longer "financially viable" with low forecasts for pupil numbers being blamed. A campaign had been set up to try and save the school but some of those who had hoped to see it continue announced their efforts had failed earlier this week.
A spokesman for Woodard said: "Lee Bergin has announced to parents that he has been offered and accepted a post as headmaster of a school in Cheshire, September 1."
