EXETER Chiefs winger Josh Drauniniu believes England have timed their challenge for the Rugby World Cup Sevens perfectly — and he cannot wait to see some action in Dubai.

"This is the best moment of my rugby career and a great opportunity to show everyone what I can do on the World Stage," Drauniniu told Echo Sport.

"Ben Ryan has put me in this squad because of my performances for Exeter and I have every confidence that I can replicate these performances for England."

Exeter Chiefs will also be represented in Dubai by scrum-half Kevin Barrett and flanker Chris Cracknell, "Both Kevin and Crackers are world class sevens players and have really taken me under their wings since I joined the squad," said the Fijian-born Drauniniu.

"It's a real confidence booster playing alongside teammates and a great achievement for Exeter Chiefs to have three players in a World Cup squad."

England have been drawn in Pool E alongside Kenya, Tunisia and Hong Kong and Drauniniu believes that they have every chance of World Cup success.

England play their first match, against Hong Kong, tonight and play Kenya and Tunisia tomorrow.

"We have had a great start to the Sevens World Series and we're now at the level where we can give ourselves every chance to beat the world's best," said Drauniniu. "There is certainly enough talent and pace in this squad to really make a mark and I just can't wait for the tournament to begin."

Drauniniu only made his professional debut for the Chiefs at the beginning of the 2007/8 season, having been spotted playing for the Royal Navy.

He highlighted the work of coaches Pete Drewett and Rob Baxter at Exeter as the main factor for his international selection, saying: "They both took a real gamble and I am very grateful for the chance they gave me.

"I have learnt so much about the game since joining Exeter and there's no way I would even be in contention for international selection had it not been for the time and effort that Peter and Rob have put into developing me as a player."

The England Sevens Squad are sponsored by Emirates, principal partner of the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Dubai
