EXETER boxer Faheem Khan admits he can't wait to get in the ring this weekend having suffered the disappointment of another cancelled fight.
Khan was due to fight former Irish lightweight champion Peter McDonagh last Thursday, but the bout was called-off at the last minute when the promoter died.
It's the second fight in as many months that Khan has had abandoned, with Swindon's Todd Roberts also canceling their scheduled bout in September.
As a result, when the McDonagh fight was called-off, Khan quickly took up the option to fight Nathan Wise, 30, in London this Friday despite his opponent holding quite a good record.
"He is fighting at light middleweight, but he is quite big for that level. He is 6ft 4 and he has eight wins, two draws and one loss," said Khan, who only turned professional just over a year ago.
"My coach even said 'this guy, he is too experienced for you' but I said 'I don't care I just want to get in the ring and fight'.
"It is frustrating because I have been training all this time.
"My friends have been coming to watch me as well and I'm just driving them around up to London and back home."
