League rules out kit change

EXETER City have been refused permission by the Football League to play in their away strip for Friday night's home game against Accrington Stanley.

In a lateral-thinking approach, City had hoped to play in their light blue away strip for the game in a bid to help them overcome a poor run of results at home that has seen them win just one of their last eight games.

City, who have enjoyed a record-breaking season away from home this season, approached the Football League to ask them if it would be possible. However, League bosses refused to sanction the move, saying it was against League regulations.
