Exeter Chiefs experienced a frightful defeat this weekend, when they were beaten 21-9, by the Leicester Tigers at Sandy Park.
Ben Youngs and Niki Goneva both touched down for the visitors in a one-sided first half, leaving the Chiefs trailing 15-0 at half time. Fly half Gareth Steenson managed to claw back three penalties, which made the score look slightly more respectable at 15-9, although it reflected their poor first half performance.
Given their 15-point lead at half time, Leicester failed to capitalise as Exeter rapidly improved their game after the break as fly-half Steenson converted the three penalties, despite their best efforts, it wasn't quite enough to knock the Tigers off their pedastal.
As the game wore on, Leicester Tigers made sure of the points with a further two penalty kicks, that took the game on to a final score of 21-9 in favour of the vistors.
