Comments (0) With the school half-term arriving next week, here's a guide compiled by Anita Merritt to the best of the events in Exeter and the surrounding area to keep children busy. Saturday, October 22.

Bits and Pieces RAMM family activity day at St Nicholas Priory, Exeter, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, and 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Runs from October 26 to 28. Make a mosaic inspired by the Roman mosaic discovered in Exeter's Catherine Street to take home and help make a massive mosaic that will feature in an exhibition of children's work at RAMM next year. Escot Camp Wild Hallowe'en at Escot, Ottery St Mary, on Thursday, October 27 and Friday, October 28. A residential camp for two days and one night, for children aged from eight to 12 years. There is also a day camp alternative for six- to 12-year-olds. The fun includes pumpkin carving, toffee apple making, monster feast, night hike with the bat detector, mythical bedtime stories, capture the ghost, team challenges, music, games and roaring campfires. Accommodation is based at Yurt Village where children sleep in bunk beds in girl and boy sleeping pods, eat meals with friends and enjoy a huge variety of activities which connect children to wildlife, nature and outdoor play. First ever Hallowe'en Evening Extravaganza at the Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth, on Thursday, October 27, from 5pm to 7pm. The creepy theme continues throughout half term, week with Hallowe'en Holiday Hunts from 9.30am to 4.30pm, and Hallowe'en Fun Afternoons on Tuesday, October 25 and Thursday, October 27, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Hallowe'en Shriek Weekend at Escot, Ottery St Mary, on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29. Activities start from 6pm to 8.30pm and include the chance to meet an owl, story telling followed by a ghostly walk through the dark, dark forest, finishing with toasting marshmallows by the campfire and prize giving for the best costume. £7 per person, booking is essential. Hallowe'en Night in Exeter Guildhall from 7.30pm until 9.30am on Saturday, October 29. Derived from the principle of Night in the Museum, a unique event where children aged eight to 11 can spend the night in one of Exeter's oldest buildings. Book in advance. Call 01392 265525.

Saturday, October 29.

Sunday, October 30.

Hallowe'en party fundraiser and themed supper for the Billie Butterfly Fundon Sunday, October 30, at Stockleigh Pomeroy Village Hall, from 3pm to 6pm. Lots of fun activities. No tricks just treats so suitable for any age. Entry £1.

Hallowe'en fun for everyone organised by Newtown Community Association on Sunday, October 30, at The Hut, Belmont Park, Exeter, from 6pm to 9pm.

Family Sunday with a Hallowe'en theme at Exeter Phoenix on Sunday, October 30, Oct, from noon. Cinema, dance, storytelling and fun art activities. Free with a charge for some activities. Call 01392 667080 for more details.
