A man has died in a car crash in Launceston, Cornwall.

The 59-year-old from Teignmouth, was in the single car collision on the A30 at Two Bridges just after 8am on Friday.

His car, a white Jaguar XK, left the road and collided with trees.

The road was closed for several hours while police attended the scene.

Police said the driver sustained serious injuries and reported he later died.

His next of kin have been informed.

Police are appealing for witnesses to get back in touch, in particular, a woman who contacted police.

A police spokesman said: "We are looking to speak to a woman who stopped at the services in Plusha. She was driving a people carrier and contacted us. We are asking that she gets back in touch, purely as a possible witness."
