Man cut free after van and lorry collide on M5 near Exeter

Firefighters managed to free a man after a van he was travelling in was in collision with the rear of a lorry on the M5 southbound between junctions 28 and 29. Fire Engines from Cullompton, Tiverton and Middlemoor were sent in . Crews stabilised the vehicle and extricated the man, using cutting gear. The man was suffering from leg injuries and was taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital by ambulance.

    Does it really take 15 firefighters to free one person? My concern is that in the future the management will want reduce man power to make savings.
