FOLLOWING a successful summer exhibition, Teignmouth Art Society has revealed the result of its Best in Show competition with the winning picture having been chosen by the public.
The winner is Mavis Haddleton, whose oil painting Wild Sea received the most votes.
The piece was influenced by the work of Roy Lang. Mavis, who has been painting for a number of years, prefers the medium of oils, but she has developed a more diverse style influenced by family members.
Teignmouth Art Society was formed in 1948 and now has 185 members. It meets twice a month from September to April for professional demonstrations and practical sessions, and enjoys summer painting days in our glorious countryside from June to September.
The society holds three exhibitions annually with in excess of 280 works on display.
New members are always welcome.
