TOPSHAM coach Colin Milkins is looking for a response from his team when they visit Old Technicians having suffered back-to-back whitewashes.

Losing 32-0 at home to leaders South Molton was a blow, but a 21-0 reversal by lowly Salcombe was a real crippler.

Topsham had only been beaten once all season before the South Molton game.

They are still third in the table, but are fighting to stay in the promotion picture.

Milkins said there are a number of reasons why results have tapered off.

“Players are dropping away through injury, non-availability and even falling out of love with rugby,” said Milkins.

“We have never beaten Old Techs away in the league. Now is the time to step it up if we want promotion.”

Wessex make the short trip to New Cross this Saturday having had a an unwanted afternoon off last Saturday.

The Flowerpot men should have played St Columba & Torpoint but the games was postNorth Tawton didn’t have a game last Saturday. They return to the fray in Devon Two by entertaining Buckfastleigh Ramblers.
