Police are hunting the man who threatened the Kingsteignton Beefeater staff

POLICE are investigating an attempted robbery at a Kingsteignton restaurant.

Two members of staff escaped unharmed after being threatened by a man, believed to be carrying a knife, at the Beefeater restaurant in Newton Road, Kingsteignton.

The incident happened at about 5.50am on Bank Holiday Monday.

A police spokesman said: “The women managed to escape unharmed and the suspect left the premises empty handed.”

He is described as a white man, of medium build, around 5’8 to 6’ tall. He was wearing a dark hoodie and dark jogging bottoms or jeans.”
