IN regard to the idea of city centre shops to open later, no thought has even been put into this idea at all for so many reasons.
It beggars belief, because you don’t need late-night shopping in the run up to Christmas. If you cannot get what you need in the hours of a general day in the lead-up to Christmas
The last bus to the park and ride leaves the High Street around 6.30pm. Workers don’t want more shopping and after the last one has reached the park and ride the gates are locked and you can’t get your car out, so staying open longer seems an illogical un-thought process. As a reader has said, workers don’t want more shopping. It is interesting to read that this person is saying late-night Christmas shopping has never been successful. This is not necessary and should be scrapped right now. Let’s start doing something on more affordable parking fees and making Exeter a safer and more pleasant city to want to be in.
Let’s get things in proportion, this is a waste of time
