Christmas shoppers at the Guildhall Shopping Centre in Exeter will be encouraged to take part in free activities to test their fitness, meet a famous robot football team and find out about some of the opportunities available at Plymouth University.
The University will be in three locations in Exeter's Guildhall Shopping Centre on Saturday and Sunday (December 8/9).
At the junction of Queen Street and Paul Street an arts shop will include a dress-up photo booth, illustrators' drawings on the windows and lively dance routines from the University breakdancing team.
Technology enthusiasts can test their internet security, get interactive with the University's robot football team or be engulfed in a giant bubble in the main mall opposite Wilkinson.
And the health conscious can test their fitness and learn more about medical issues such as obesity and diabetes in the Higher Market arcade opposite Body Shop.
Students and academics will staff the shops for the duration, and will also be able to offer advice on routes of study and courses on offer.
The presence is being organised by the university's outreach and recruitment team, and outreach and recruitment administrator Taren Youngs said: "This is an excellent opportunity for potential students to talk to current learners face to face, and a chance for them to find out what the University has to offer by experiencing it first-hand."
Andrew McNeilly, centre manager at the Guildhall Shopping Centre, added: "We are delighted to be able to welcome Plymouth University and its exciting activities. There is something for everyone and we hope that our visitors will enjoy the many experiences on offer."
The shops will be open from 9.30am to 5pm on Saturday and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday.
