Exeter City have raced into a 3-0 half-time lead here at Spotland thanks to two goals from John O'Flynn and a shot from Pat Baldwin.
Paul Tisdale made two changes to the side that faced Rotherham at home in their last outing bringing in O'Flynn and Jimmy Koehane for the injured Tommy Doherty and th suspended Scot Bennett.
Jamie Cureton went close to opening the scoring early on, but blazed over having been put through on goal by Liam Sercombe. Alan Gow then put a free-kick just wide, before a free-kick into the box saw defender Pat Baldwin prod a shot past Josh Lillis ffor the opener on 26 minutes.
Exeter City's second goal had an element of good fortune about it as Cureton looked offside when Sercombe played him in down the left. The flag stayed down though and he crossed for O'Flynn to side foot home from six yards out.
Exeter were then gifted a third s Keohane's cross from the left was misjudged by Lillis, in the Rochdale goal, and O'Flynn once again was in the right place to side foot home.
