A Christmas Service of Light to celebrate the lives and memories of loved ones is being held at the East Devon Crematorium.
It takes place on Saturday 8th December 2012 at 2pm.

The service at the crematorium near Whimple, will be conducted by the Reverend Hilary Dawson from Colyton, as well as Sue Jackman a civil celebrant and Trudi Farmer, an interfaith minister.

The service will also feature the Sidmouth Cameo Ladies Chamber Choir, performing a selection of Christmas carols.  There will be readings reflecting on Christmas as well as an opportunity to light a candle in memory of a friend or family member. Personal tribute cards are also available to hang on the chapel's Christmas tree.

Ed Whitehouse, Manager and Registrar of the East Devon Crematorium said: "The Christmas Service of Light gives those who have experienced bereavement at any time in the past, an opportunity to remember their loved ones at this special time of year, in an atmosphere of seasonal warmth and companionship.

"The service is open to people of all faiths and beliefs, to reflect on the memory of friends and family members no longer with us."

Refreshments will be provided after the service and all are welcome.

East Devon Crematorium, which opened in April 2011, is located just off the old A30 at Strete Ralegh near Whimple in East Devon.
