FANS of the Stan Hacking Concert Band are in for another great night of themed music at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
Every concert the band puts on raises money for charity and the latest cause is The C Group, a Royal Marines charity that inspires business to support Royal Marines in need while they are serving, in transition to civilian life and thereafter. As an ex-band sergeant the cause is even more special to conductor Stan Hacking.
For the concert at the golf club in Topsham Road, Exeter, on Sunday, September 29, the band has created a military-style programme of music.
"One of the main pieces of music will be John Ansell's Plymouth Hoe (A Nautical Overture)," said Stan, who will be assisted by deputy conductor Barry Parsons.
"We will also be doing HMS Pinafore: Oh Joy, and Semper Fidelis, regarded as the official march of the United States Marine Corps and also the motto of Exeter city. And the programme will include highlights from West Side Story, which we have done many times."
Tickets cost £8 and are available from the golf club or by calling 01392 447672.
