Exeter-based Apple premium reseller Stormfront has been ranked among the fastest growing companies in Britain.
It features in the 17th annual Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 league table of private companies with the fastest sales growth over three years.
The list includes five companies headquartered in the SouthWest, employing 670 staff and with combined sales of £200m.
The region’s top-ranked company is Stormfront, with 185 staff and 23 stores nationwide. Computer enthusiast Mike Fleming set up the business in 2008 and grew its sales by 116 per cent per annum over three years, to £40.1m in 2012. This puts the company at 20th place in the national rankings.
Mike said: “Stormfront is proud to feature in the list for the second consecutive year, flying the flag for South West-based businesses with national coverage.”
New entrants to the league table include Newton Abbot-based Centek, which manufactures equipment for the oil and gas industry. The business operates in 50 countries, with exports accounting for 94 per cent of its £21.4m sales last year.
The region’s other representatives on the list are Swindon-based Oak Furniture Land and Bristol firms Opus Recruitment Solutions and Nasa Umbrella.
