This video shows the demolition of a popular South Devon link road bridge over Christmas.

Demolition work to the Aller Bridge and one of the culverts near the line took place from Christmas Day to December 29.

The South Devon Link Road project team released time lapse footage of some of the activity undertaken during the recent engineering works.

After weeks of planning and preparation, removal started early on Christmas morning, with the bridge being demolished in less than 30 minutes.

Here is a time lapse video of the entire operation – 18 hours compressed into 1½ minutes. It gives you the ground-level view as Gilpin Demolition from Newton Abbot carried out a complex piece of work during very heavy downpours.
