EXETER City players can not afford to get hung up on their league placing according to manager Paul Tisdale.
City moved third in the table on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Southend and currently find themselves two points ahead of fourth-placed Rotherham after picking up a 1-1 draw at Torquay on Tuesday night.
However with and 18 games left to play and just separating them and ninth-placed Bradford City, Tisdale is well aware that their league position is likely to change on numerous occasions between now and the end of the season.
"We are third but the group of teams behind us, the teams down from to fourth to 12th, are so close," he said.
"It means you can move about in the standings so easily.
"I don't think we can get hung up on the fact that we are third, because we might go and have a very good away draw and lose our position.
"We can't worry about that, we have to look at the next 20 or so games and attain some level of consistency and that will get us where we want to get to.
"We are in a good position, but things are so tight that the only thing for sure is that those positions aren't going to stay the same between now and the end of the season.
"We just have to be consistent in our play and consistently in those top echelons."
