Former Tiverton goalkeeper named in England’s 23-man squad for Brazil

Former Tiverton Town goalkeeper Ben Foster has been named in Roy Hodgson’s 23-man squad for Brazil.

England’s No. 2 goalkeeper had a spell on loan at Tiverton during his time as a Stoke City player in 2002.

Out of the 23 players, named in Roy Hodgon's squad, six have also played at Exeter City's St James's Park ground.

Jordan Henderson featured for Liverpool in a League Cup tie against City in in 2011.

Stand-by England players Scott Flanagan and Andy Carroll also played in that game. Carroll notched the third goal in a 3-1 win.

Wayne Rooney played and scored against Exeter City in FA Cup replay at St James's Park in January 2005, while Adam Lallana, Alex Oxlade Chamberlian and Ricky Lambert all started as Southampton beat City 4-0 January 2011.

Chamberlian and Lambert also played in the return game in February 2011, the latter scoring a brace as Southampton came from behind to win 2-1.
