Tiverton Town crept into the play-off spots with a 0-0 draw at home to 10-man Paulton Rovers at Laydmead on Tuesday.

Tivvy were just edging the early exchanges before referee Robert Dabbs showed Dean Evans a straight red card following a wild lunge on Dan Smith.

The Yellows bossed the remainder of the half with James Richards missing one of their best chances of the game.

But despite plenty of endeavour – and their extra man – Tiverton struggled to break down a stubborn Paulton side who looked determined t leave with at least a point.

And it could have been worse as the visitors threatened with several dangerous-looking counter-attacks as the hosts chased the game.

Ultimately, both sides had to settle for a point, but it was enough to move Tiverton into fifth spot following Yate Town’s 3-1 defeat at Thatcham Town.
