Police have confirmed that an elderly man who was injured in a collision at the Devon County Show is recovering in hospital.
The 80-year-old Devon man was injured in a seven car collision in the show’s car park at 2pm today.
Two causalities were taken to hospital this afternoon after a serious collision involving seven vehicles at The Devon County Show car park at Westpoint.
Police said the man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries and another with facial injuries.
The man, a pedestrian at the show, is recovering and helping police with their inquiries.
The collision also involved a horse box with two animals trapped inside. Fire crews were called to cut the horses free with one of them being sedated by vets at the scene.
Another driver was described as ‘walking wounded’ by the police.
One fire engine, the heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor and the special rescue team from Camels Head attended the collision involving two horses trapped in their horse boxes at 14:28pm today.
