Veale has no complaints at loss

CREDITON United manager Jon Veale admitted his team were beaten by a 'better and fitter side', following a heavy defeat at Budleigh Salterton.

It could have been different had Lee Wearing's header gone in instead of hitting the post in a first half in which they did not concede until the 40th minute.

But they trailed 2-0 at the break and 3-1 after an hour following a goal from Wearing, and went on to concede five for the third match running.

"We were still in it and half-time and had a good go at it, but their fitness levels and training were just on a different level to ours and it showed at the end of the game," Veale said.

"It was a good performance from us considering, but at the end of the day we were beaten by a better and fitter side.

"We should have been 1-0 up when Lee Wearing hit the post with a very good header. They then had an own goal and we folded for a couple of minutes."

Up next for Kirton is a crunch match at home to bottom-side Sidmouth Town.

"We have Sidmouth next and they have not even won a game, so that's massive for us. If we don't win that then I'm not sure what I am going to do," said Veale.
