There were two 5-0 wins in Division One of the Exeter & District Winter Volleyball League.

Storm Excoll beat Kirton 5-0, with Mitch Abbott picking up their player-of-the-match award.

Torexe Hunters fell to a 5-0 defeat at Taunton Scorpoins.

Torexe Phantoms also had a disappointing result as they lost 4-1 to PMVC Pocket Rockets.

In division two, Torexe Jaguars won 3-2 against Exeter University.

The first set was fairly even with the Students initially edging ahead on points, but the Jaguars worked their way back to level pegging as the set progressed. They then got their noses in front during the closing stages to win the set 25-19.

Jaguars also took set two, but lost in sets three and four to leave the match all square.

With all to play for, the deciding set was closely fought throughout, but Jaguars managed to get their act together in time to secure the match points.

It was a much more straight forward win for Exeter Birdmen when they faced Exeter University seconds. They recorded a 5-0 win, with scores of 25-7, 25-5, 25-16, 25-14, 15-11.

The Birdmen then followed this up by beating the Exeter University first team 3-2.

They took the first two sets 25-14, before a slight blip in the third was recovered with a 25-21 in the fourth set. The final set went to the Students 16-14.

Exeter Univsersity seconds recovered from their defeat to the Birdmen by beating Torexe Spitfires 5-0, while Wanderers VC Rapoptrs beat Torexe Jaguars 5-0.

Chris Ostler was their play of the match, with Sam Curtis and Anette Grahns also performing well.
