Woman rushed to hospital with life threatening head injury after four vehicle collision near Honiton

A woman has been rushed to hospital with life threatening head injuries after a collision involving four vehicles near Honiton.

Police were called to the scene of the crash on the A35 between Honiton and Kilmington just after midday today.

The road is currently closed by police.

The incident happened two miles outside of Honiton and involved a silver Mercedes, a silver Lexus RX300, a Ford Fiesta and a White Renault recovery Renault.

Police confirmed a female passenger of the Ford was rushed to hospital by land ambulance after suffering serious head injuries.

The fire service and ambulance were called to the scene and the road currently remains closed.

A representative of Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"A female passenger from the Fiesta has been taken to the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital with life threatening injuries.

"The road is closed in both directions while investigations take place at the scene.

"Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 251 of 7th April."
