The Exploding Bakery

Small but perfect!

“The Exploding Bakery is a simple, unpretentious establishment that concentrates on providing just a handful of artisan breads, cakes and tarts – and the best cup of coffee in Exeter! Seriously, once you try their coffee, you won't want to go anywhere else, because they use freshly-ground beans roasted by London's famous Monmouth Coffee House and brewed to perfection. You can buy the beans (ground or whole) to take away, along with their famous soda bread, delicous cakes and savoury pastries. Located in the parade by Exeter Central Station, it's really a takeaway aimed at commuters, but there's a bench outside and one tiny table inside if you feel the need to devour your purchases on the spot. The rest of the interior is occupied by the preparation and baking area, so if you do sit in, there's the added bonus of watching the baker at work. One of Exeter's hidden gems!”
