Fire crews from Exmouth were called to reports of a ‘burning smell’ at a property in the town centre this morning.

Firefighters arrived at the house in St Johns Road, just before 9am, to find a strong burning smell coming from a light fitting in the property.

Crews used a thermal imaging camera to detect the exact location of the ‘burning smell’, and discovered there had been a small fire in a light fitting. Firefighters ensured the lighting and property was safe before leaving.

Watch Commander Sturtivant was in charge.
