I passed the scene just a few hundred yards past Telegraph hill at approx. 02.30am and it was total carnage. Its one of the worst car accidents I had ever seen. Two car were involved, a new model Honda Civic with extensive frontal damage facing the right way and an unknown model of car on its roof facing the opposite direction just about 20ft from each other both in the slow lane of the carriageway. The police had closed off the slow and middle lane leaving just the fast lane open. With no traffic around I drove at a slow speed to have a look, it was a mess I don't know if anybody could have survived it.
