FRIDAY NOVEMBER 30th

Westpoint, Clyst St Mary: Christmas Shopping Fayre - With over 300 stands with 1000's of outstanding seasonal offers you will a greater choice of exciting gift ideas than in a high street full of shops. For three fun-packed days Westpoint hosts an amazing range of retailers, manufacturers, craftspeople, wholesalers and importers from far and wide who transform the vast 4,500sq m hall into an Aladdin’s cave of wonderful gift ideas and essential Christmas items. 9.30-5.30pm. £3.50/£2.50 per ticket. Children Free.

Exeter Corn Exchange, Market Street: Supersonic 70s - The wonderful Too Rex who are regarded as the finest tribute to the legendary Marc Bolan & T.Rex, led by the amazing Bobbi T - simply the image, both in looks and voice, of the legendary Glam Star. Selling out shows everywhere playing to devoted fans of the biggest icon of the 70s, Too Rex play all the monster hits plus classic album trac ks too. Get ready to be "Re-born to boogie"! 8-10.30pm. £19/£17 per ticket.

Lemon Grove, Exeter University Campus: The Wurzels. 7.30pm – 11pm. The Wurzels (originally Adge Cutler and the Wurzels but renamed The Wurzels after Adge Cutler's death) are a British Scrumpy and Western band. The Somerset-based band is best known by many people for their 1976 number one hit "Combine Harvester", and number three hit "I Am A Cider Drinker" based on the song Una Paloma Blanca, but have a history stretching over 40 years, and still perform to this day.

Exeter Cathedral Green: Exeter Christmas Market - Exeter Cathedral is delighted to announce that for the first time it will host a Christmas Market on Cathedral Green this year. The Market will run from Friday 23 November until Sunday 16 December: Mon - Wed, 10am - 8pm, Thurs - Sat, 10am - 9pm, Sun, 11am - 5pm. The market will open from 6pm until 10pm on the opening day (23 November). The Exeter Christmas Market will represent the best of what Britain, the South West and the rest of Europe has to offer – with a mix of great food, excellent crafts, unique gifts and decorations. The Market is run by Market Place Europe Limited.

The Lower Hall, Bartholomew Street West, Exeter: Westgate Science Club Festival Open Evening - All ages welcome. Bring family and friends. Lots of demonstrations/displays and presentations by the children. Visitors are welcome too. The Westgate Science Club - Exeter makes science cool for primary school children aged 7 years + with hands-on, practical experiments, special displays. It's great fun, with a touch of chemistry, physics, astronomy, biology. 7-8.15pm. Free.

Exeter Cathedral: St Loye's Foundation Anniversary Carol Service - to celebrate the 75th Anniversary year of Exeter based charity St Loye's Foundation. Enjoy a festive and celebratory evening, with Christmas carols led by the Cathedral Boys Choristers, performance by East Devon's only all female barbershop choir Renaissance Chorus and an opportunity to meet our Paralympian Ambassadors. 7.30-8.30pm. Free.

Magdalen Road, St Leonards, Exeter: Christmas Fair - Organised by local people and co-ordinated by the St Leonards Neighbourhood Association, the Christmas Fair in Magdalen Road is now a very popular annual shopping and exciting event. This "urban village" contains well established award winning purveyors of fine food, drink and gifts, as well as some exciting new shops on the block. Pipers Farm Butchers, Gibsons Plaice for fish and the exquisite Bon Gout delicatessen are all well known and respected retailers, but quirky newcomers like Belgreen Cafe, Ian Smith Wines and Arriety retro haberdashers make Magdalen Road a unique location for shopping. 2-4pm. Free.

Exeter Barnfield: Mother Goose - the tale of rags to riches, all thanks to a goose that lays golden eggs. There are good guys and bad guys along the way, a few foot tapping tunes too. 2pm / 7.30pm. £10/£7 per ticket.

The Devon burlesque funsters Kinky & Quirky's unmissable night will have you laughing, whooping and shaking your tail feathers. World class performers, cabaret seating with dancefloor, dress to impress. McCoys Arcade, Fore Street, Exeter: Handmade Arcade - No Guts No Glory presents Handmade Arcade - Exeter's regular Indie Art and makers fair. The McCoys Arcade on Exeter's Fore Street is transformed into a cave of treasure, as locally grown artists and makers descend upon the Arcade with their beautiful and unique creations, live music will fill the air and workshops from surrounding traders will inspire you to use your hands! Free.

Exeter Phoenix, Bradninch Place: Unique Boutique Market - Unique Boutique is all about the makers and artists of Devon. Everything on sale has been made or up-cycled right here in this beautiful corner of Britain. Some people do this as a way to make a living, others do this as a way of living. Either way, the quality is excellent and the range of skills and innovative ideas is inspiring. Find handmade cards, textiles, locally spun wool, colour-me-in bags, ‘vintage’ baby grows, and accessories to die for. These markets aim to demonstrate the talent we have living amongst us, and to give people the opportunity to purchase something Not-the–High-Street, but something quite unique. 11-4pm.

Exeter Great Hall, University of Exeter, Stocker Road: Thin Lizzy - after two years of touring, Rock Band Thin Lizzy will end 2012 with a run of UK dates, including this concert. The line-up, features vocalist Ricky Warwick, bassist Marco Mendoza and guitarist Damon Johnson alongside Classic Thin Lizzy members Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton have gone from strength to strength since announcing their return in May 2010. 7.30-10pm. £26 per ticket.

The Hub on the Green's Craft & Cake Fair, 8 Cathedral Close: An opportunity to browse, meet and buy from local crafters, relax with tea and delicious homemade cakes and try the making table. This month Sparkly Sonia will be making beautiful sparkling magic wands with any keen crafters who come along. 10.30-4.30pm.

Strand Gardens, Exmouth: Christmas Cracker - Christmas Market stalls, entertainment and seasonal delights giving shoppers easy access to the festivities and linking the event into the town centre. Thanks to the ‘Exmouth Christmas Lights’ group, there will be a welcome return of the wonderful Christmas lights bringing a little magic and sparkle to the town. 10-8pm.

Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth: The Christmas Fair is a fantastic day filled with plenty of festive activities! Children can meet Santa in his grotto and receive a Christmas Gift. There are also craft stalls, carols, festiva decorations, games, a silent auction, raffle and refreshments. 10-3pm. Free.

Heavitree United Reformed Church, Exeter: Christmas Fayre - Lots of stalls - including books, Bric a Brac, toys, cakes unwanted gifts, plants and much more. Games including bowling, quizzes, tombola, and raffle with great prizes. A colouring competition for the children will be judged at 11am. Pick up a flyer from Exeter Visitor Information and Tickets in Dix's Feild to enter. Refreshments will be available - as well as delicious lunches. 10-1pm.

Exeter Castle, Castle Street, Exeter: The Craft Hub Christmas Craft Fair - Crafts available to buy include ceramics, jewellery, Vintage style candles, Textile and fabric designs and much much more, with over 60 stalls of stunning, high quality design. An onsite café will provide home-cooked food, refreshments and cake, and an onsite Making Lounge for adults and children alike. 10-4pm. £1 per ticket.

Killerton House, Broadclyst, Exeter: Carols in the Music Room - Come and listen on Sunday afternoons as carols fill Killerton house with a magnificent Christmas atmosphere. Take in the festive Christmas decorations and warm yourself by the log fire. A free drop-in event – normal admission to the house applies: adults £9.30, children £4.70, National Trust members free. 2-4pm.

Exeter Corn Exchange, Market Street: Lee Nelson Live! Star of Live at the Apollo (BBC ONE) and two series of the smash-hit comedy Lee Nelson's Well Good Show (BBC THREE). "The hottest creation since Ali G and Vicky Pollard" (Daily Mirror) is adding final extra dates to his twice extended live tour due to overwhelming popular demand. 7.30pm (doors open 6.45pm). £15.50 per ticket.

Exeter Cathedral: Advent Sunday Procession with Carols 6-7.30pm. Music from the Cathedral Choir, seasonal readings and effective use of darkness and candlelight. This special service marks the beginning of the season of Advent.

Ottery St Mary, The Parish Church of St Mary: Christmas Tree Festival - This year will be 44 Christmas Trees at the church with town shops and local organizations all involved. The event will be open from 12.00 noon. A Christmas Tree Festival not to be missed! Coffee and Tea will be available.

Exeter Northcott, Stocker Road: Ellie's Trunk - Poor Ellie the Elephant has lost her trunk! Can you help us to find it? Join Marvin the Monkey, Pauline the Parrot, Tilly the Tiger and Curtis the Croc on our interactive jungle adventure! Hold on to your binoculars as we skip through the vines, trudge through the swamp, splish splash through the river and crawl through the tall, tall grass as we search for Ellie's case. Pitter Patter Theatre invite young (and grown-up) adventurers to join them on stage for a truly unique and exciting experience as they explore the magical jungle around them. £4 per ticket.

Matthews Hall, Topsham: Twinkling Firs Christmas Craftacular - A contemporary, Christmas, craft spectacular! Show-casing the heart of Devon’s creative community, the Twinkling Firs Christmas Craftacular! is an event not to be missed. Over 40 local and regional hand-makers will be exhibiting and selling their gorgeous handmade work at this thoroughly modern and enticing seasonal fair by The Craft Hub. 10am-4pm.
