FRIDAY April 6th

A la Ronde near Exmouth: A family-friendly Easter quiz trail runs in the grounds until Sunday, April 15.

Visitors can search for clues and discover facts about eggs, birds and other egg-laying creatures. There is a free chocolate egg for every budding nature detective.

An Easter Eggstravaganza takes place on Saturday, April 7, and Sunday, April 8. Salli Carr-Griffin, of A la Ronde, said: “Our volunteers will be on hand to help children make a selection of Easter and spring-themed items to take home. A face painter will be here over the weekend too, so children can be transformed into their favourite Easter character.” Read about more specific EASTER events

Exeter Pheonix: Former Busted and Fightstar star, Charlie Simpson, is now a respected musician, song writer and performer in his own right and is touring with his debut album. Tickets for the Exeter gig, starting at 7.30pm, cost £13.50. Call 01392 667080.

Worldbeat, Little Castle Street, Exeter, Sunday: The first bank holiday Sunday event of the year in the Timepiece calendar is its popular Worldbeat event. Two acts will play – the Congo’s Kasai Masai, a band led by the internationally known Nickens Nkoso, and The Metronomes Steel Orchestra, four time winners of the British Association of Steel Bands National Panorama Competition and twice winners of Notting Hill Carnival. DJs will also be playing club music from around the world. Entry £3, doors open 8pm.
