MEMBERS of the public have been offered the chance to experience a stunning view across the city from the top of Exeter Cathedral.
Tours up the cathedral's tallest tower have started this month, offering a unique view of the city.
Visitors are now able to climb the 172 steps up the North Tower and go out onto the roof of Exeter Cathedral, from where you can see across to Dartmoor and the coast, as well as the whole skyline of Exeter.
The tours will run every hour from 10am to 3pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 2pm on Sunday, and cost just £2.
Wider ranging roof tours are also available this summer, taking visitors to parts of the cathedral normally hidden from view, including the medieval lead workshop in the roof and the bell ringing chamber.
Head of visitor services at the cathedral, Catherine Escott, said: "These tours will offer visitors the chance to see parts of the cathedral normally hidden from view.
"The views from the roof are just breathtaking on a clear summer's day."
